A Trip to the Moon with Calvin’s Art History Society

You’re Invited . . .

This Sunday, March 3, Calvin’s Art History Society (AHS) is heading downtown to the UICA for a screening of Georges Melies’s 1902 film A Trip to the Moon, followed by The Extraordinary Voyage, a documentary on the life of this early French filmmaker. Martin Scorsese’s Hugo was inspired by Melies’s approach to film. You can learn more here.

To attend, meet outside Spoelhof Center by the flagpole this Sunday at 2:15, with $8 in your hand (admission for UICA exhibits and tickets to the show), and a smile on your face — because it is going to be a treat! We should be back to Calvin around 5:00. All Calvin students are invited, so bring friends.

And to get in the mood, consider attending the SAO’s screening of Hugo this Saturday, March 2, at 9:30 in the Fine Arts Center.
