Performance of N.N. (Ningún Nombre)

As part of the Broad without Walls exhibition, a collection of urban interventions hosted by MSU’s Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, Professor Cano Villalobos’s Cross Cultural Engagement (CCE) students participated in the performance N.N. (Ningún Nombre) this past Saturday, April 28th. Throughout the day, Kerry Aarnoutse, Jenny Swim, and Professor Cano stationed themselves along East Lansing’s main thoroughfare, sewing over photographs of the faces of those executed or disappeared during the political strife of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s in South America. Through this public performance and installation, the three artists engaged with passers-by, educating viewers about the historical content of the work.
