Alumni | Patrick Hekman

Ant-FarmRecent graduate, Patrick Hekman, will be participating in an artist residency in Nebraska from August 1 – September 15. Operating as an artist residency program since 1993, Art Farm offers artists an opportunity to live and work in a rural environment. An unusual and growing collection of traditional agricultural buildings and experimental structures provides accommodations and studio space for artists in exchange for a contribution of labor for 12 hours per week. The exchange helps renovate Art Farm’s buildings and grounds. An abundance of materials (scrap and organic) and space, allows room for decorative interactions between ideas and environment. At the end of each resident’s stay, the artist and the director jointly choose an artwork to be donated to the residence’s private collection.
